Yes, somewhere other than the State Fair’s Grandstand is hosting concerts this week. The Seattle rockers have been playing together for more than 30 years, and the tours seem to be changing in size: They’re stopping in St. Paul for two nights as part of their latest five-city-only tour. The Lyrical Artwork of Jim Denomie

A new exhibition at Mia surveys the artwork from the latter half of the late Native American painter’s career. Pacita Abad at the Walker Art Center

The first major retrospective of the Philippines-born artist’s career is debuting at the Walker Art Center, with more than 100 of her works (most of which haven't been displayed in the U.S. previously). The artist saw no distinction between her colorful life and art, famous for her trapuntos quilted paintings, her work spans tapestries that depict masks, aquatic scenes, and the immigrant experience.
